  • ULM instructor writes first book in sci-fi trilogy
    Jerry Griggs, instructor of English at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently published "The Terror of the Talpidae"--the first of three novels in the e-book series "Mole War."
  • ULM opens International Student Center
    Eric and Linda Liew, along with University of Louisiana at Monroe students, faculty, and staff, held a ribbon cutting to open the International Student Center--a million-dollar home created as a central hub for ULM's international students.
  • ULM Wind Ensemble heads west for annual concert tour
    The University of Louisiana at Monroe Wind Ensemble will take their music on the road in a mini-tour beginning this week. The ensemble is the top instrumental performing group within the School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA).
  • ULM professor releases new Broadway book
    Oxford University Press has released "Broadway Song: A Guide Singer's Guide," written by Dr. Mark Ross Clark, associate professor of music at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The book is now available worldwide on, and features an analysis of 100 Broadway songs from traditional and contemporary styles and all voice types.
  • ULM international food fair set for April 1
    The University of Louisiana at Monroe's International Student Association will present the annual International Food Fair, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, in Student Union Ballroom A, located on the second floor of the Student Union Building.
  • Higher education forum at ULM March 30
    Various entities from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the surrounding community will hold a joint forum on higher education at 10 a.m., Monday, March 30, in the ULM Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the ULM Library.
  • West Side Story opens Thursday with panel discussion at ULM
    In conjunction with the opening of West Side Story--the 2015 spring musical at the University of Louisiana at Monroe--an expert panel discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m., March 26, in Brown Auditorium, ahead of the opening night performance.
  • ULM Hawkeye stuns at national competition in New York

  • ULM's annual La' Louisianne Crawfish Boil Saturday
    In conjunction with the University of Louisiana at Monroe's maroon and gold spring football game, the Ouachita Parish Chapter of the ULM Alumni Association will host the La' Louisianne Crawfish Boil from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, March 28, in the south end of Malone Stadium underneath the scoreboard.

    The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Campus Activities Board is pleased to announce its concert acts for Spring Fever 2015--headliner Lee Brice, with The Cadillac Three and Chase Bryant. Each year, the board selects artists from varying genres including Hip Hop/R&B; Rock; and Country.
  • Monroe named one of 50 best college towns to live in forever released its list of the "50 Best College Towns to Live in Forever," and the city of Monroe--home to the University of Louisiana at Monroe--came in at number 41 on the list. The ranking features the nation's best cities and towns to settle in after graduating college.
  • Winners of ULM's 15th annual student research symposium announced
    The University of Louisiana at Monroe recently announced the winners of the 15th annual Student Research Symposium. Used as a vehicle to showcase the outstanding research being conducted by graduate and undergraduate students at ULM, the symposium presents the unique and high quality work of ULM students.

  • Entergy provides sixth donation to ULM's Mobile Dental Hygiene Unit
    The dental hygiene program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe recently received $2,500-- its sixth grant from Entergy in support of the Mobile Dental Hygiene Unit at ULM. Since 2012, Entergy has donated a total of $14,500 to the program.
